The electronically controlled Makita-built brushless motor delivers up to 1.5 HP and efficiently uses energy to match torque and RPM to the changing demands of the application. It has a variable speed control dial (10，000 – 31，000 RPM) to match the speed of the application， and electronic speed control engineered to maintain constant speed under load.
Convenience features include the soft start feature for smoother start-ups and better accuracy， dual L.E.D lights to illuminate the workspace， and an on/off button with a separate lock button. The slim and ergonomically designed body with a rubberized grip is engineered for increased comfort.
